Secularism is better.

imagine      This is two extracts of article comparing standard of living between secular and more religious society and demonstrating the superiority of secularism to the theocratic way of life.

"Norway, Iceland, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Switzerland, Belgium, Japan, the Netherlands, Denmark, and the United Kingdom are among the least religious societies on earth. According to the United Nations' Human Development Report (2005) http://hdr.undp.org/en/reports/global/hdr2005/chapters/ they are also the healthiest, as indicated by life expectancy, adult literacy, per capita income, educational attainment, gender equality, homicide rate, and infant mortality." P43 Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris 2006.

"The United States is unique among wealthy democracies in its level of religious adherence; it is also uniquely beleaguered by high rates of homicide, abortion, teen pregnancy, sexually transmitted disease, and infant mortality. The same comparison holds true within the United States itself: Southern and Midwestern states, characterized by the highest levels of religious literalism, are especially plagued by the above indicators of societal dysfunction, while the comparatively secular states of the Northeast conform to European norms." P44 Letter to a Christian Nation by Sam Harris 2006.

"The more "Christian" a place is, the greater the social ills and crime of the area. That's the primary conclusion of an exhaustive scientific study done by Gregory S. Paul and published in the scholarly online journal, Journal of Religion and Science of the Creighton University of Omaha, Nebraska, a Jesuit school. http://moses.creighton.edu/JRS/2005/2005-11.html The study showed that the most "Christian' parts of the United States, the South and Midwest, have the highest rates of social ills and crime including murder, sexually transmitted diseases, mortality and so forth. The study also showed that the United States as a whole has far higher rates of crime and social ills than the rest of the developed world including all of Europe. The US is much more "Christian" than other civilized nations." By: Edgar Saint George.

Christians are pretending that morality comes from their gods or their bible but the statistics don’t go that way. It is ridiculous to think that ethics and morality come from old books put together in a time when slaves were fighting in the arena for their survival. I must emphasise the violent and abject philosophy of that book. It is therefore not surprising that secularism offer a better frame for equity and justice. Christianity is dying, slowly but certainly. The change is not due to "aggressive secularism" (which is only a by-product) but is happening in people consciousness, they realise the irrelevance of religion in the modern world. The human race is evolving toward wisdom and social harmony faster than ever, without religion to slow us down. It is absurd to think that we need some Bronze Age scripture to tell us not to kill or rape. Our morality come from our humanity and our natural caring attitude toward fellow humans and is a tribute to the greatness of mankind.
